Shipping and Receiving
Processes all product and packages shipped/received by the company. Offer assistance in general maintenance of machines and company assets.
Authority:
The Shipping/Receiving/Maintenance associate is empowered to make decisions regarding:
Practical and economical means of shipping/receiving product if not specified by customer
Recommends shipping costs negotiated with vendors
Maintenance of company assets
Assist in the expediting of outsourced operations
Responsibility:
Shipping/Receiving personnel are responsible for the following areas:
Packaging product being shipped to protect against damage.
Shipping product in most economical way.
Scheduling of outgoing freight companies (Fed Ex, UPS, and Holland).
Receipt of raw material per procedure.
Receipt of outsourced product
Receipt of tooling and supplies
Receipt of customer returned product
Maintenance of company assets as requested by supervisor
Duties:
Package parts per customer requirements if provided or best way if not specified.
Load all packages on trucks when tow motor operation is required.
Practices safety when operating tow motor or lifting heavy packages.
Relay any shipping issues to account executive or representative.
Provide shipping tracking data if needed.
Open packages and verify contents against packing slip and purchase order.
Labels or identifies any controlled product (i.e. raw material, customer supplied, machined parts).
Distribute package contents to the appropriate requestor or department.
Notify purchasing of any issues regarding short shipments, over shipments, non-conforming material, etc.
Practices safety when operating tow motor or lifting heavy packages.
Performance Measurements:
Accuracy of work completed.
Completion of goals set by management
Completion of above duties in a timely manner.
Position Requirements:
Familiar with shipping and freight vendors.
Knowledge of overseas shipping and customs requirements.
Organization and prioritization skills.
Basic computer skills.
Oral communication skills.
Ability to work effectively with people
Must be familiar with and practice internal safety standards
Must be respectful and display a positive attitude
